Popular Antidepressant PAXIL Linked to Several Birth Defects When Taken During Pregnancy
Heart Defects
Paxil has been linked to numerous birth defects. Heart defects including atrial and ventricular septal defects have been linked with Paxil use during the first trimester of pregnancy. According to two studies, women who took the antidepressant Paxil during their first trimester of pregnancy were one and a half to two times more likely to have a baby born with a heart defect than women on other antidepressants or women in the general population. These studies reported mostly atrial and ventricular septal defects, which are holes in heart’s chamber walls. The right and left atria are separated from each other by a septum; one side contains oxygen-rich blood and the other oxygen-poor blood, and the septum keeps these chambers separate. A defect in the septum may need to be repaired surgically and can be life threatening.

Effexor (venlafaxine) or Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) may cause birth defects!
Effexor, also known as venlafaxine, is a serotonin norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) antidepressant prescribed for the treatment of major depressive disorder, anxiety, and panic disorder. Antidepressants such as Effexor and Pristiq may cause birth defects in newborns, according to information which has been emerging since 2005.
Babies who were exposed to Effexor prior to birth may be at an increased risk of developing severe birth defects. These side effects may include heart and lung defects. Although little research has been done on the risk of Effexor birth defects, medications that are similar to Effexor have been linked to serious risks for newborn babies.

Many people love the buttery smell of microwave popcorn, but the savory aroma has recently been linked to a lethal lung disease in factory workers who make the popular snack.
Now, the first-known case of the illness has turned up in a man who consumed large amounts of popcorn. Popcorn fanatic Wayne Watson ate about two bags daily, but now he has quit because of the havoc it reeked on his lungs.
What is Diacetyl?
Butter Flavoring Diacetyl is used in food flavorings for popcorn, candy, pet food, snack foods, baked goods and other food products. These products are known as food products containing diacetyl or FFCD’s.

During these difficult economic times, we cannot afford another tax increase, especially one that won’t work.
The proposed national tax on soda and juice drinks will not teach children good nutrition habits or have a meaningful impact on public health, but will have a negative impact on American families struggling in this economy.
This is a regressive tax that would unnecessarily burden hard-working Americans. And it would do irreparable harm to an industry whose economic reach extends to every community in America, directly providing 220,000 good-paying jobs with health benefits and a direct economic impact of $136.4 Billion.
For these reasons, I reject the proposed tax on soda and juice drinks. Let your lawmaker know that you say NO to the tax on soda and juice drinks
